00:12:05 Sadie won’t come in the house, barking at night. End of Night 1.
00:12:45 Carolyn awakened by a creaking sound, like a twisting rope. Funky smell in eldest’s bedroom, like something died. All clocks in house stopped at 3:07 AM. Basement door found standing open – Roger is exploring basement. Carolyn complains house is freezing. April searches for Sadie. Carolyn & Roger discuss strange occurrences from the night before.
00:15:46 Scare! April finds Sadie’s body.
Sequence B
00:16:16 The Warrens entertain a reporter doing a story on their lives and work. It’s revealed that they have a young daughter.
00:19:26 Sadie’s collar is wrapped tightly around the shoulders of a scrap-wood cross, her name painted across its arms to mark her grave. It’s 3:07 AM again, and the clocks stop. The girls are sleeping in their rooms.
00:20:13 Scare! An invisible force grabs one of the girls by her foot.
00:20:40 Scare! Cut to TV static (Poltergeist reference.)
00:21:10 Roger wakes up, investigates the house.
00:22:44 Scare! THUD comes from upstairs.
00:22:56 Scare! Andrea surprises Roger on the stairs.
00:23:07 Cindy is sleepwalking in Andrea’s room. End of Night 2.
00:24:00 Carolyn & Roger process the previous evening’s events.
00:24:38 Scare! Birds fly into house, followed by BUS BREAK jump scare.
00:25:08 April talks to ghost boy.
00:26:00 Scare! April pranks Carolyn.
00:26:53 April & Carolyn play Clap Game. Carolyn follows GHOST CLAPPING.
00:28:27 Scare! April jumpscares Carolyn.
00:29:17 Night 3 Begins. Christine sleeps in bed, legs exposed like always.
00:29:32 Scare! LEG GRAB.
00:30:49 Christine peeks under bed, looking for culprit. Sees and hears bedroom door moving… Nancy doesn’t see anyone behind the door, but Christine does. Nancy gets up to investigate.
00:32:51 Scare! DOOR SLAMS SHUT. End of Night 3.
Sequence C
00:33:30 Ed Warren is off to investigate a case, Lorraine comes along despite Ed trying to protect her. He wants to take a break from hunting.
00:35:01 Ed Warren demonstrates that a “haunting” can be nothing but a house that needs repairs.
00:35:26 Night 4 begins. Carolyn examines fresh bruises in the mirror. The doctor prescribed her meds for the bruising. Roger is not home yet. Building to a scare.
00:36:04 A child giggles. Somewhere, someone is playing the Clap Game. Carolyn investigates, but finds that all her children are sleeping.
00:37:12 GLASS SHATTERS. All the family photos have been knocked from the walls.
00:38:39 The basement door opens on its own. Downstairs, the piano plays the same three notes played by Roger in Sequence A. Carolyn goes down to investigate, because she’s a character in a horror movie.
00:39:14 The basement door slams in Carolyn’s face and knocks her down the stairs.
00:40:02 A ball rolls across the floor at Carolyn, the light bulb explodes overhead as she crawls back up the stairs.
00:40:24 At the top of the stairs, she lights a match and tries to see into the darkness below. It goes out. She strikes a second one.
00:40:35 Children's hands appear over Carolyn's shoulder and CLAP. (+ the match goes out.)
00:40:58 Cindy sleepwalks again, banging her head on Andrea’s wardrobe. Andrea walks her back to Andrea’s bed calmly and tucks her in.
00:41:54 The wardrobe begins banging on its own.
00:42:39 BATHSHEBA FACE REVEAL on top of wardrobe.
00:42:55 Action builds to a crescendo as Roger arrives home and discovers all that has happened in his absence.
End of Night 4.
Sequence D
00:43:21 Ed & Lorraine give a talk at a small college. They introduce the Three Stages of Demonic Activity.
00:44:56 Carolyn is in the audience, taking in all this information. She talks to the Warrens. Lorraine agrees.
00:46:00 Ed & Lorraine show up at the Perron house and evaluate the case. We get the thrill of watching Lorraine do her thing for the first time.
00:55:17 Upon returning home, the Warrens discover that Carolyn’s voice didn’t record on their tape player. Lorraine reveals the history of the house.
00:57:06 Warrens’ tape player kicks on by itself; in place of Carolyn’s voice, a demon growls. It’s 3:07 AM.
00:57:30 THE NEXT DAY, AT THE WARREN’S PLACE - Ed & Lorraine show up with a crew to document the conjuring in order to request an exorcism. The Warrens relay information they’ve learned to the Perrons as they setup the gear and prepare for the evening’s… activities.
01:01:08 Drew flirts with Andrea.
01:01:25 False Alarm as Brad exits bathroom.
01:02:00 THE INVESTIGATION BEGINS. Ed Warren goes around the house, putting up crosses and holy symbols.
1:02:51 Bells jingle. Everybody’s on alert. Basement Door Opens.
01:03:00 Warrens turn on camera to investigate basement – MOVIE TRAILER MOMENT. Lorraine feels bad. Ed taunts the spirits. Nothing. They return upstairs.
01:04:49 Ed hears something behind him at the last second. It’s nothing.
01:05:05 BASEMENT DOOR SLAMS SHUT.
01:05:31 The clock rolls over to 3:08 AM.
END OF INVESTIGATION NIGHT 1
01:06:00 Breakfast. Processing. Spirits are higher. Ed and Lorraine do laundry together, dream of retirement.
01:07:02 The wind begins to pick up. Howling. Building to a scare.
01:07:30 SHEET GHOST.
01:07:55 Carolyn is possessed by Bathsheba.
01:10:00 Foreshadowing & backstory about Lorraine’s previous experience with possession.
Sequence E
01:11:00 INVESTIGATION NIGHT 2 BEGINS. Brad goes for a coffee refill and gets spooked.
01:11:15 WHISPER. Decides to investigate outside.
01:12:25 SUICIDE MAID attacks Brad.
01:13:21 Cindy’s being piloted by a ghost. Locks herself in room. Cameras going wild.
01:13:48 Drew hears other voices via mics in room. Cindy has disappeared. Ed uses UV light to find her tracks.
01:14:30 They discover Rory’s hiding place.
01:15:59 Lorraine goes in.
01:17:02 Lorraine finds a noose and then falls down into the basement.
01:19:00 Lorraine meets some ghosts downstairs. Every single woman who has died here, including Bathsheba.
01:20:38 Nancy thrown across room by hair.
END OF INVESTIGATION NIGHT 2
Sequence F
01:21:12 The Perrons get the fuck out of the house.
01:21:59 Lorraine sees her daughter Judy floating in the water outside the Perron house.
01:23:48 The warrens request an exorcism with the church.
01:24:50 Judy Warren is haunted by Bathsheba, who uses Annabelle as a conduit.
01:28:27 Ed & Lorraine arrive just in time.
01:29:17 Roger and Drew arrive back at the motel to discover that Carolyn has taken Christine and April back to the haunted house. Carolyn is possessed. The Warrens realize what’s going on – Carolyn is going to kill the girls.
01:30:30 The Warrens & Brad show up at the Perron house to try and save the girls from Carolyn.
01:33:23 Ed realizes he has to do the exorcism himself.
Sequence G
01:34:05 The Exorcism of Carolyn Perron begins.
01:35:00 Drew searches the house for the missing girls.
01:36:00 Crows swarm the house, breaking windows, slamming into walls.
01:38:49 Bathsheba levitates Carolyn upside down and slams her chair into the ceiling.
01:39:23 Drew finds the girls! Carolyn escapes!!!
01:41:17 Lorraine uses Carolyn’s memories of her family to bring her back from the brink. Overwhelmed by the feeling, Bathsheba is forced to flee Carolyn’s body.
EXORCISM OVER. WARRENS/PERRON FAMILY WIN.
